Over the past week we have worked hard but also managed to have some fun.
Yesterday we went and received our exit document from the US customs. This document is important to have at our next port of entry, Hiva Oa, French Polynesia.

So far I have done a fair amount of school and boat work. In the morning school has mostly consisted of math and french and later on I help my dad with boat work. I am up the mast in the image below. In addition, I've successfully created a pulley system for our spinnaker pole lift.

Yesterday we went to Stinson beach just north of San Francisco on the West Coast of California.
It was a beautiful sunny beach just beside a cute small town.
Yael went surfing in the very cold water and Seth jumped on the Fitness ball doing his flips!
Last night we had a little send off party with some of the local cruisers as a fiery red horizon emblazoned our departing night sky.
Today is Thursday and the weather looks great to leave the San Francisco Bay on the ebbing tide. We will sail down the coast about 30 miles to Half Moon Bay. On Saturday we will start the crossing and we expect to motor the first day or so and then we hope to shut the motor off and sail for three weeks in the trades to make our landfall in the Marquesas.
